More Backgrounds

I held onto my Collioure rock background for a long time, but then this happened....

It totally goes against my impersonal selections, that I so often make. My boyfriend came to visit me in Montpellier one weekend. Of course I took him to the beach and we made this cliché testament of our love. I did the crappy letters and John made the lovely seashell heart.

Then about a week and a half later I was on my Easter break trip, and took this picture at Kuekenhof. Read more about that here on my travel blog http://gretcheninmontpellier.blogspot.com/2011/05/easter-break-kuekenhof.html These tulips were gorgeous and reminded me so much of my dad's tulip that was a background for a long time.

As of yesterday, this is my new background. It was taken in my host dad's father's garden. In the south of France here there are so many fabulous rose plants, bushes, and vines. They vary in color and in scent. We loved this unique mauve or lavender color of these ones. It was an overcast day, as well, which I think exaggerated the delicate color.
